At home, be safe

 

Falls and injuries

Use non-slip mats in the bathroom.

If you have to reach something high, it's better to use a step-ladder.

 

Poisoning

Keep toxic products and medicines out of the reach of children.

Toxic products must never be kept alongside food or drink.

Make sure vessels containing toxic products are well labelled.

 

Burns

Use insulated gloves to handle hot objects.

Keep matches and lighters out of the reach of children.

 

Fires and explosions

Before leaving the house., make sure no dangerous equipment has been left on.

If there is a gas leak, open all doors and windows and switch of the electricity at the mains.


Choking and drowning

Do not let children play with small objects or plastic bags.

Fence off swimming-pools, wells, etc., and do not leave children alone in baths or swimming pools.


Electrical danger

Electrical equipment must be kept away from water.

In case of an electrical emergency, switch the current off at the mains.
