The UN General Assembly has adopted the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, which is basically a plan of action in favor of people, the planet and prosperity, which is also intended to strengthen universal peace and access to justice.

The "Agenda 2030"  proposes 17 Objectives with 169 goals of an integrated and indivisible nature that cover the economic, social and environmental spheres. Their objective is to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for everyone as part of a new sustainable development agenda. There is an international commitment to mobilize the necessary resources for the implementation of the necessary alliances, focused especially on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable.

The Government of the Balearic Islands has assumed as its own the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)  promoting public policies that allow effective economic, social and environnmental sustainability.
