WORKSHOPS

As part of the LIFE AdaptCalaMillor project, a series of workshops, participatory dynamics, and resources have been developed to explore strategies and innovative solutions for adapting urban beaches to the challenges of climate change—through the active involvement of key entities and civil society.

We invite you to explore these materials and activities, which may serve as inspiration or guidance for your own coastal adaptation initiatives.

Training workshops for key entities

hese workshops bring together experts from different disciplines, representatives of public administrations, and members of the private and business sectors, with the aim of sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and fostering collaboration in the search for sustainable responses to coastal resilience.

Each workshop addresses key issues related to coastal zone management and planning, from the implementation of science- and nature-based methodologies to active community participation in decision-making processes. These events are a unique opportunity for those who wish to be at the forefront of understanding and implementing adaptive measures that ensure a safer and more sustainable future for our urban beaches.

The project has held three training workshops for key entities. Access the documentation for each workshop:

For more information on these training workshops held within the framework of the project, please access the technical report “Sharing knowledge with key entities”.

Participatory Workshops for Work Groups

In contexts where action or working groups are formed to achieve common objectives, group dynamics play a fundamental role. These activities not only help to define and strengthen relationships among group members, but also foster collaboration, active participation, and the creation of a climate of trust. In addition, they are effective tools for facilitating the understanding and assimilation of complex concepts in a participatory and experiential manner.

Within the framework of the project, various types of dynamics have been designed and adapted to different needs, objectives, and group profiles.
Soon, we will share on this website the “Experience Box” for group facilitation – a set of practical activities specially developed to enrich teamwork, enhance cohesion, and support learning and decision-making processes.

Awareness-raising workshops for citizens

Engaging the population in sustainable transformation processes is essential to achieving shared objectives across different sectors of society. To support this, it is important to provide spaces for awareness-raising where dynamic activities serve as valuable tools. These not only help to identify community needs and concerns, but also enable the integration of local perspectives in the design and implementation of adaptation projects.

Such activities are particularly effective for communicating the effects and risks associated with climate change, as well as for conveying complex concepts through accessible, engaging, and participatory methods. In doing so, they foster a deeper understanding and stronger citizen engagement in climate change adaptation.

As part of the project, a variety of activities have been designed and tailored to different needs, objectives, and audience profiles.

Soon, you will find on this website a Experience box with resources and activities to support citizen workshops and encourage participation in this type of initiative.

For more information on the awareness-raising workshops for society held in the framework of the project, see the technical report ‘Awareness-raising campaigns in local associations’.
