The DGTIC: Functions

In accordance with the article|item 8 of Decree 32/2003, of 26 November, of the president of the Balearic Islands, by whom the basic organic structure of the Ministry of Economy|Economics, Treasury and Innovation is established, the General Direction of Technology and Communications exercises|exerts the following functions:

• Planning and regulation
      Of the new information technologies and of the communications

• Endowment of infrastructures to|in the government organs of the CAIB
      To guarantee the use and the exploitation of its|his|her|their systems of information
      To establish the internal system of communication

• Advice in information technologies and communications
      In|To the ministries and autonomous organizations|organisms of the Government
      With respect to the acquisition, maintenance, follow-up of resources|appeals, applications and projects

• Standards and security|certainty
      Definition of the standards of the architecture of the systems
      Guarantor of the fulfillment|compliment of the standards
      Responsible for the security|certainty of the technological information and resources|appeals

• Communications
      Coordination of the public services
      Execution of the sectorial directive Plan
      Exercise of the functions on the subject of local televisions, cable and FM
