Recovery|Retrieval and sanitary study

Title of the project: "Sanitary study, preservation and characterization of minoritary varieties of vineyard in Balears. Confirmation of only genotypes through the application of molecular scoreboards. Sanitary recovery|retrieval of genotypes infected through techniques of biotechnology"

Execution: 2010 - 2013

Investigator|Researcher principal: Doctora Josefina Bota Salort

Objectives: The general objective of the project is to know the sanitary state of the local varieties of vineyard of the Balearic Islands and, if it is necessary, to sanitate them. The minoritary varieties have a special interest, since one of the most important results of this proposal is the possibility to have characterized material and his|her|their that can be authorized. The specific objectives are next detailed:

  1. Study of the current state of the minoritary varieties in Balears. Confirmation of only genotypes through the application of molecular carcadors. Propagation of the amterial and inclusion of aqesut in the collection of the new selected material.
  2. Viral evaluation through him test|flowerpot ELISA and confirmation for PCR of the stumps of the collection of minoritary varieties. Sanitary recovery|retrieval of varieties with virosis. Application of biotechnological techniques (termoteràpia, in vitro crop|growing of fabrics|tissues) for the eradication of virus.
  3. Preservation of sanitated material.
  4. Study of local varieties of vineyard in a situation of climatic change. Determination of the rank of variation in the efficiency in the use the water, in a high number of local varieties.
