SHELTER OF THE BLUE POOL

The shelter of the Blue Pool was constructed by the ICON in the year 1978 as shelter and meeting point for the fishermen|anglers, and reformed as a shelter in the nineties.

The reservoir of the Blue pool was constructed in the year 1972, together with that of Cúber. It works as a reservoir of rain for the supply of the city of Palma.

The high pluviometry, together with a very variable relief|relay make of the environment of this shelter one of the spaces of major wealth landscape and born in Mallorca.

Location and access

The shelter of the Blue Pool is|finds in the Place born in the Saw of North Wind, to|in the proximity of the reservoir of the Blue Pool in the municipal area of Escorca, at the level of the kilometric point 31.7 of the Andratx-Pollença road (MA-10).

Description and equipments

The building has a room of rectangular plant|floor alone and the surface|area is about 29 m².

The shelter and the surroundings have the basic equipments to make small stays there.

The maximum capacity belongs to 8 persons.

The parking lot of the shelter is found out of its|his|her|their perimeter. The access to the shelter is made across a door with steps or an adapted ramp|chute|cramp.

In the shelter there are a table and a bank|bench, five esteres of wood, a home of fire, a first-aid kit and an extinguisher.

The shelter does not have electricity.

In the exterior of the shelter there are an adapted table, an adapted stove, an adapted chemical bath, a green point and a woodshed.

Adaptations

The shelter is adapted to persons with reduced mobility.

Complementary activities

The shelter can be the starting point of numerous itineraries that can be carried out in the more nearby public estates like Cúber or the comma from Prat. It|He|She would be the case of itineraries like: turn in the reservoir of Cúber or the Ofre. It can also be opted to make longer itineraries as|like the ravine of Biniaraix or arrive until Sprout for the old path|way.

In the reservoirs it is only allowed to fish with the authorization|accreditation of the Ministry of Environment and Mobility.
