SHELTER OF THE COMMUNE OF CAIMARI

Constructed to the decade of the 70 as in|on hut for the caminers of the current road Caimari-Lluc, the eighties it was reformed as a hut of surveillance of the estate, and later went|passed to working as a shelter. In year 2005, through an agreement of comanagement between the Ibanat and the Town Council of Selva, reforms, among|between which they highlight the adaptation of the facilities for persons with reduced mobility, were carried out there. The building and the surroundings have the basic equipments to make small stays there.

Location and access

The shelter of Caimari is in the Place born in the Saw of North Wind, in the commune of Caimari, in the municipal area of Selva.

People access in the shelter across a stretch of the old path|way of Sprout of 300 m of length, which is initiated into the Km 11,6 of the road Ma-2130.

It can be accessed in vehicle.

The Commune of Caimari

The commune of Caimari, property|estate of the Town Council of Selva, is the more extensive communal territory of this municipal area, with approximately 1.000 quartered of surface|area.

In the commune there is a good number of elements that show the activities that were carried out in the forest in the past: silos, ovens of lime|whitewash, shacks of roter, ponds and cisterns. The natural environment, together with these elements they make of the commune of Caimari one of the places most charming of the Saw of North Wind.

Description and equipments

The shelter has a useful superficie of 29 m² with an attic|hillock.

The capacity of the shelter belongs to 8 persons.

In the inside|inland of the shelter there are a table and a bank|bench, four stretchers|bunks, a bath of work adapted, a home of fire and a first-aid kit besides an extinguisher. It|He|She does not have beds.

The shelter has light and running water.

In the exterior of the shelter there are an adapted table, an adapted stove, a green point and a woodshed.

Adaptations

The shelter is not adapted to persons with reduced mobility.

Complementary activities

The commune of Caimari is very frequented by the hikers, since they cross it|her in the classical rise in|on Sprout across the Old path|way. The old path|way of Sprout in Caimari is part of the GR.

The visitor can enjoy panoramic excellent ones about the sector of the Plan of Mallorca more nearby to the Saw of North Wind.

In the commune of Caimari there are two recreational areas that allow to enjoy this natural space.
