THE NATIONAL PARK MARÍTIMOTERRESTRE OF THE ARCHIPELAGO OF GOATHERD

BASIC INFORMATION

General description: the national Park is constituted for the archipelago of Cabrera formed for the main island of Big|Great Goatherd, the island from Conills and some fifteen|fortnight of small islets, more the waters of its|his|her|their environment.

Surface|Area: 10.021,51 hectares (8.705,26 sea hectares and 1.316,25 terrestrial hectares).

Situation: it|he is placed in the south of Mallorca, at ten nautical miles of the port of the Cologne of Sant Jordi (ses Salines). It|He|She belongs to the town of Palma.

As|Like arriving at it: it|he|she can go from the ports most nearby to the zone through the touristic boats that they split. SYSTEMS OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT|FORMALITY

The National Park Marítimoterrestre de l'Arxipèlag de Cabrera obtained in the month of November of year 2008 the certificate from environmental management|formality in agreement the Rule UNE-ISO 14001:2004. To the following year, in the month of December, the center of visitors of the Park "Ses Salines" also obtained the mentioned certification. The process of certification was carried out by AENOR, main certifier entity of Spain accredited as Accreditation, ENAC, by the National Entity.
The scope of both certifications includes:
1. The activities of conservation and management|formality of the Park.
2. The management|formality of aquariums and activities of divulging and information of the Park carried out in the center of visitors "Ses Salines".
The Ministry of Environment and Mobility has developed the implantation and maintenance of the system of environmental management|formality with which it is guaranteed and verifies, through the certificate granted by AENOR, and ratified by IQNet (International Certificacion Network), its|his|her|their commitment|appointment in the protection to the environment, as well as the control and fulfillment|compliment of all environmental requirements that concern the Park.
The singularity of the Park is that it is a matter of a territory that is selfmanaged. In spite of belonging administratively to the municipal area of Palma, sewerage, supply|delivery electrical or of fuel, among others, does not have municipal or external services for the collection of waste, sanitation|reorganization; but it is the own Frugal what is made for all these services responsible.

EDUCATIONAL OFFER

Consult the educational offer of the national park of the archipelago of Cabrera.

GUIDED VISITS

The activities guided for the public in general can be agreed on the same day of arrival in the Office of Information of the port of Cabrera. (telephone 630 982 363).

The school groups who want to carry out activities of interpretation and environmental education in the island of Cabrera have to contact the Service of Educators - Guides - Interpreters of the national Park (telephone 971 65 62 82).

WHAT CAN BE MADE THERE?

Uses and allowed activities:

• The observation of the fauna and the flora.
• Realization non professional  defotografies without going out of the itineraries.
• All those that do not alter the landscape, natural and cultural values of the Park.

Uses and activities that require written authorization|accreditation:

• The activity of professionals of filming, photograph|photography, video, etc.
• The bivouac and the overnight stay in|on the air free.
• Busseig.
• The navigation and the anchorage.
• The events|acts of mass character.
• Every commercial activity that has to develop in fixed|steady establishment.
• The performance|action as interpreter guide, touristic guide or informer in the inside|inland of the Park.

Uses and prohibited activities:

• Throwing away waste and remains.
• Extracting any type from geological material.
• Extracting or altering any archeologic object.
• Recolli rqualsevol type of material, alive or inert.
• Giving, to sow, to transplant animal or vegetal species.
• Switching on fire and smoking.
• Robbing vessels out of the expressly authorized zones.
• Camping in all the territory of the National Park.
• Making bustle.
• Carrying out any type of cinegètica activity.
• Accessing on earth|land in any point different of the tongs of the port of Cabrera.
• Circulating out of the clues|tracks and paths|ways.
• Diving in apnea during the months of May and June in the zones of coast|shore where the species Scyllarides latus makes its|his|her|their lay.
