A total of 125 reproductive cranques have been given in waters of Cabrera the four last years to restore this species in the Islands
The Laboratory of Researches Marines and Aqüícultura (LIMIA) of the Ministry of Presidency carries out since four years ago a project to re-introduce the Mediterranean crancaMaja squinado, a species that is found practically extinguished in the Islands, in the sea background|bottom of the Balears, where only some copies|specimens have been found in Formentera. The general director of Fishing, Patricia has carried out a visit of follow-up of this project to the LIMIA where it|he|she has remembered that this project works in two lines, "on the one hand, the one given of reproductive cranques coming from Còrsega in waters of Goatherd and of the other one, the breeding|calf in captivity of this species in the LIMIA."
