The public company Services of Territorial Information of the Balearic Islands (SITIBSA), of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Territory, it|he|she has published a new series of spellings of the Balearic Islands, obtained from the air images that they took in year 2010. These last months SITIBSA, that, compilation and distribution of cartography and geographical information, is dedicated in|on the production he|she|it has implemented these images in its|his|her|their orthographic catalog. This new series of images, with a resolution of until 25 cm, can already be consulted through the display of the web page of the Infrastructure of Spatial Data of the Balearic Islands (IDEIB) (http://ideib.caib.es/visualitzador/visor.jsp). With the incorporation of these orthophotographs, clarity and geometric accuracy are won in, so that now the air image of the Balearic Islands is more adjusted to the reality.

In the display of the IDEIB orthophotographs of the Balearic Islands of years 1956, 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2010 can be consulted, and compare the current images with those of these former years. Moreover, the information can be superimposed selecting several criteria of visualization. Thus, clicking, for example, on the "Being" option. Basic CAIB" can be seen the cartography topographic of 1995, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008, and the photographic series of 1956, 2000-2001, 2004-2006 and 2008. In this way the changes are seen that there have been in the territory in the time|weather. Or, selecting the "Being" option. Thematic CAIB", for example, can consult the information about administrative limits, environment, economy|economics, transport, health, etc.

These orthophotographs can be consulted by any user of Internet and are specially useful for technicians, public administrations, employers|businessmen and students interested in the evolution of the spelling of the Balearic Islands along the years. All this information can also be consulted using any software that can load services WMS.
