The counselor of Social Affairs, Promotion and Immigration, Fine Santiago; the batlessa of Petra, Caterina Mas, and the president of the Association of the Plan, Joana Maria Pascual, they opened yesterday the night center of Petra, destined to the attention of the biggest persons and which will give attention to the Association of the Plan.

About a hundred persons approached|neared|passed yesterday, by night, to see the new instal•lacions which|who, moreover, it mean the recovery|retrieval for the people|village of a part of the ancient|antique convent of those Franciscan, that they|who handed it over to the Town Council it|him to be destined in|on this equipment. The Ministry of Social Affairs, Promotion and Immigration has been in charge of the design, the construction and the equipment of the center. Yesterday the keys gave up to the town, that now the person in charge|attendant will be from starting it|him off. Moreover, 64.600 euros will be destined to the maintenance of the center this year by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Promotion and Immigration.

The counselor Fina Santiago assured that the center is an example of institutional col•laboració: "there has been participation|shareholding of the central Government and of the Ministry in the funding for the construction, and of the Town Council, that it|he|she handed over us the property for power to carry out the center. The towns are that are part of the Association of the Plan, which has the social services united: Algaida, Ariany, Costitx, Lloret, Llubí, Maria de la Salut, Montuïri, Petra, Porreres, Sencelles, Sant Joan, Santa Eugènia, Sineu and Vilafranca.

Also Valldemossa and Esporles will have a night center.

The night centers give answer to two important needs of the biggest persons and its|his|her|their relatives. Per una banda, they offer the cuidadores families the possibility to enjoy some nights of rest accommodating the dependent person. For the other one, they allow to delay the entry|income of the dependent persons in a residence, since, combining center by day and by night, these persons can remain in its|his|her|their environment and in its|his|her|their town.

These centers also have the characteristic of being very flexible, so that person users who are not shop assistants can be from it, like a very advanced person of age that preserves its|his|her|their personal autonomy, but that tengui fear to remain all alone to the evenings.
