With this new legal frame|mark, the autonomic Government wants to fight against the increasing offer il•legal of non authorized taxis that are practiced since some years ago in the Balearic Islands, which, in more of meaning a direct offense for the sector, prejudices seriously the image of our community and represents, at the same time, a danger for the road security|certainty.

The first step|passage of the Government of the Balearic Islands to fight against this fraud materialized in the approval, the last month of February, of a whole|set of measures for the Eivissa island, where this phenomenon is more stressed, among|between which it|he|she highlights the authorization|accreditation in the town councils so that they can concede seasonal licenses of taxi in the municipal area.

Now, with the approval of the Decree-Law a step|passage becomes the commercialization and the promotion of a service of non authorized taxi ahead in this fight, since they describe the provision|feature to themselves as offenses, the precautionary measures are determined and a sanctionative regime|diet that will be applied is established in the Balearic Islands, with fines that can arrive until the 12.000 euros.

The services of inspection, the agents of surveillance of the transport for road and the local policemen in the own area will have competence|competition to immobilize a vehicle when an irregular activity is detected, independently of if the driver having or Spanish no residence or the identity has documentation that proves some. They will also be able to fix provisionally the amount of the economic|economical sanction, which will have to subscribe in the moment of the complaint|denunciation in concept of deposit to be able to withdraw the vehicle. Once notified the offense to|in the General Direction of Transports of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Territory, this will start the corresponding sanctionative report.

The General Direction of Transports has speeded the writing of this rule so that it can already be applied in this touristic season, period in which the phenomenon aggravates, so that it is foreseen that it is published this same week or the next week in the Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands. The Council|Piece of Advice of Government has also approved today sol•licitar in the Parliament of the Balearic Islands that an extraordinary session summons to be able to obtain the parliamentary validation from it as soon as possible.
