In this sense, the job market of the Balearic Islands attains 585.100 active persons in this first term, fact that represents an increase with respect to the same term of 2011 17.000 persons (+2,99%). It|He|She is the highest figure of all the historical series in a first term. In the whole|set of Spain the active population keeps stable (+0,05%) and varying autonomous communities lose some.

The rate of activity (percentage of the population of 16 years and more years that he|she|it has incorporated into the job market) in the Islands has placed, the highest of the national whole|set, which has been of 59,9%, in 64,8% in this term. The rate is 1,6 percentage points higher than that of the same term of 2011.

The occupied population is situated|placed in the Balearic Islands in 421.200 persons, which implies a variation of 13.700 occupied less (-3,2%) about the former term. In interannual terms the descent means|supposes 2.800 occupied less (-0,7%), very inferior descent to the one registered in the whole|set of the State (-4,0%).

The rate of employment|occupation (percentage of population occupied about the total of population of 16 years and more) of the Balearic Islands has stood|placed in 46,6%, 1,3 percentage points over the rate of the whole|set of Spain, which has been of 45,3%.

The unemployed persons of the first term in the Balearic Islands are 163.900, figure that represents an increase with respect to the fourth term (+11,8%), as well as also in relation to the first term of 2011 (+13,7%). The Balears show an interannual increase inferior to that of Spain (+14,6%).

The unemployment rate stands in 28,0%, above the national rate (24,4%).
