The counselor of Education, Culture and Universities, Rafael Bosch, and the artist Bernardí Roig, have shown|presented the exhibition|exposure of the multidisciplinary work 'Walking where faces', which|who will be able to be visited in the facilities of the Market|Box of Palma until the month of November.

At the beginning of spring, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities he|she|it requested the collaboration of 1.700 adult volunteers to carry out this project developed by the artist Bernardí Roig. The call, known as 'Faces Project', was carried out in the building of the Market|Box, between the 21st and 24th of the month of April, and 1.870 persons were presented there. The face|side was photographed for them while they imitated one of the three proposed facial expressions, all with the closed eyes. The images obtained during these four photographic sessions are those that now completely cover the floor of the Market|Box. They have printed on tiles of wood of 68x68x2 cm and they have the signature of the artist in|on the posterior part. In finishing the exhibition|exposure, all that loaned the face|side for the realization of this project will receive the piece in which they turn up replayed.

'Walking where faces' is the orderly consequence of this call. It is about a combative and reflexive work. On the one hand, he|she|it intends to take the Market|Box and those that live there, to near the identity of the public space to that of the individual. For the other one, it|he|she brings up a reflection on the statute of the image, the resemblance, the solitude, the face|side and the several expressions of this.

The origin of the project is a look in|on the sculptures of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt, Austrian artist of the 18th century and teacher of the distortion of the face. But Bernardí Roig does not do work with stone, but with light and with the capacity that has this to modify our consciousness. In this case, a column of light the blinding intensity of which does not sustain the space, but a look directed|addressed towards inside.

Bernardí Roig (Palm, 1965) places the representation of the human figure in the epicenter of its|his|her|their problems, using a language of minimalist and conceptual inheritance through a multidisciplinary work. Its|His|Her|Their works have exposed in numerous museums and artistic centers of all the world, as|like the Kunstmuseum of Bonn, the BOZAR of Brussel•les, the IVAM of Valencia, the PMMK of Ostende, the Museum Carlo Bilotti  of Rome, the gallery the House of' Pesaro of Venice, the Saving Museum Dalí de Florida, the Triennale of Milan, the Cathedral from Burgos, the Spanish pavilion of the Expo 2010 (Shanghai) or the Castel dell'Ovo, to Naples, among others.
