The cases of Aids in the Balearic Islands have attained in year 2010 the lowest figures of the last fifteen years, with 31 cases diagnosed in front of the 52 cases of 2009 and the 60 of 2008. This trend downward reflects also in the register|record of new diagnoses of HIV of the Service of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, Family and Social Welfare|Well-Being. In 2010 149 new infections were diagnosed, with a rate of 134,7 cases per million, 14 points less than 2009.
Since|From 1995, year in which there was a maximum tip of cases, the number of persons who have developed Aids has gone in descent and has kept|sustained in a situation stable in the last years. In 2010 the rate has been 28 cases per million, 19 points less than 2009.
