The president of the Balearic Islands, José Ramón Bauzá, accompanied by the counselor of Presidency, Antonio Gómez, has traveled|moved to Brussels to take part in different events|acts related with the full session of the Assembly of the Committee of the Regions (CdR).

On Wednesday, the president José Ramón Bauzáv a to give to the Eurodeputy and to president of the Commission of Fishing of the European Parliament, Gabriel Mato, the document approved by the Council|Piece of Advice of Government of the Balearic Islands in defence of the insularity. This document collects a series of proposals to|in the European Institutions and to|in the Spanish State to palliate the disadvantages derivatives of the insularity in the Island s. The evening the president Bauzá and the counselor Gómez moved to the European Parliament, in the building Paul-Henry Spaak of Brussel•les, where the full session of the CdR, at 15 hours, took place. The first point of the agenda was the change of presidency of the Committee. The current president of the CdR, Mercedes Bresso, was substituted for Ramón Luis Valcárcel, president of Múrcia. Valcárcel is the first president of a Spanish autonomous community that occupies this charge|post.

Likewise, the president Bauzá goes participar dijous to|in the Committee of the Re gions,on vaexp licar the motives for which the Islands show|present an amendment in which the modification of the article|item 3 of the proposed Regulations is requested by the Commission in relation|relationship to|in the European Territorial Cooperation. The objective of this amendment is that the maximum limit of the criterion of the 150 km does not apply to the insular regions in a same maritime basin, in order to which the Balearic Islands can opt to|in the funding of transborder cooperation programs.
