The services of emergencies of Mallorca have subjected the plan of selfprotection of the tunnel of Son Vic (Andratx) to a simulation to measure the tasks of answer and coordination in the face of an accident with victims and fire. The simulation, developed for the first time with real fire, has allowed to rehearse a severe accident in a realistic way in the tunnel.

A technician of the General Direction of Inside|Inland, Emergencies and Justice (DGIEJ) has taken charge of the technical direction of operations, since the mock situation attained the level 2 of risk of the plan of selfprotection. The operating one has had|counted the participation|shareholding of the firefighters of Mallorca, the firefighters of Palma, the technicians and the operating unit of the General Direction of Inside|Inland, Emergencies and Justice, the local police, the guardia civil, the SAMU and the volunteers of protection civil.

The general director of Inside|Inland, Emergencies and Justice, Isabel Febrer, and the insular director of Emergencies, Francesc Amengual, they have also attended there like observers. Isabel Febrer has highlighted the importance of these exercises to rehearse mock situations that allow to improve the efficiency in the answer of the interfering ones, and he|she|it has thanked the Insular Council|Piece of Advice the realization of this simulation.

The exercise, a plan  that appears in the register|record of the DGIEJ inscribed and that contemplates the organization of this type of simulations in an annual way, has been organized by the Council|Piece of Advice of Mallorca with the objective of putting on trial the plan of selfprotection of this installation. For its|his|her|their development it|he|she has had the collaboration and conformity of the DGIEJ, as well as of the organizations|organisms of security|certainty and public emergency with competences|competitions in the tunnel.

During its|his|her|their development, System of Emergencies 112 has developed an important task of support to the coordination of the incident.

The simulation, which has started near the midnight, has brought up a traffic accident with 4 injured people and two implied vehicles, one of which has caught fire filling in the mouth with smoke from access to the tunnel from Andratx. During the same one, they have put on on trial the systems of alert as well as those of ventilation, as well as the consequent procedure of management|formality of the emergency.

The plans of selfprotection that companies and facilities have to elaborate to guarantee the security|certainty of the persons include these types of simulations, since the experts consider fundamental that the teams|equipments of emergencies and security|certainty can be trained in the simulation of actions|shares previously planned  about probable incidents in these facilities.
